Key Stage 2 – Year 3 to Year 6 (ages 8 to 12)
This is the longest of all Key Stages and the children make significant academic, personal and social development during this time. We encourage our students to become increasingly independent, self-confident and responsible and show a greater awareness and empathy to others.
Students in Key Stage Two will have opportunities to participate in academic, musical and sporting activities in competition with others Excel Edu. Within school, there is a wide range of extra-curricular activities to choose from and the roles of Excel Edu Council representative and of Leaders are just a couple of examples of how we ensure the students are given the opportunity to lead and suggest their ideas and thoughts, thus are able to meaningfully contribute to the positive development of Excel Edu International.
We understand that a happy child is more open to learn, so we focus on filling every class with a sense of fun and wonder. We build on this foundation in Year 3, 4 and 5, encouraging children to become independent learners who are inspired and excited by the process of discovery. Students explore reading for pleasure, and develop their comprehension skills as well as their ability to discuss what they have read. Your child’s role in an international community is completed in Year 6. Our curriculum develops and understanding of local and global cultures, while encouraging students to develop leadership and collaborative skills. The child then completes the Cambridge International Primary Programme and its ready for Secondary School.
